The Alpha's Apprentice

We were driving somewhere one day. I should say Rooster was driving, I was in the passenger seat and  our 5'5'' son was somehow lying in the back seat with his seatbelt on. O_o

Rooster suddenly started lecturing the women in the car in front of us. He does that. Thankfully the windows were closed.

"Why are you smoking, sticking your hand out of the car like that? You are a beautiful young girl. Don't you know smoking will prematurely age you?"

Since the windows were closed I felt safe in responding, believe me if they were open I wouldn't dare encourage him. He would just start speaking louder to hopefully be heard by the women.

"Have you noticed that more and more people are smoking again?"

"Young people"

"And it seems to be more women than men"

from the depths of the back seat pipes the voice of our son

"I have a theory about that!"

"Oh really, and what is this theory?"

"Women are not used to competing in the world like men. They find it extremely stressful, so they are turning to cigarettes to deal with it."

Hysterical laughter from the front seat.

"That is very true. He makes a valid point."

I was still laughing and internally shaking my head at my Alpha male and his little Apprentice.
